I moved from the USA to the Stockholm region five years ago for family reunification and have built my life here. At 51, I bring real-world experience, resilience, curiosity, and a long history of working with people in high-pressure environments.
Before programming, I spent many years as a registered nurse, where teamwork, clear communication, documentation, prioritization, and practical problem-solving were part of everyday work.
My interest in software grew when I collaborated with a hospital development team as a super user, contributing user and workflow insights for tools used in real healthcare settings. That experience showed me how thoughtful software can support people, improve routines, and make complex work easier to manage.
Today I am studying system development with a focus on .NET, C#, databases, and web applications. Outside of my studies, I keep learning through hands-on side projects, including home labs, virtualization, cybersecurity basics, DevOps experiments, and small web applications. I also have a YouTube channel where I have shared parts of my IT learning journey, with plans to include more development-focused content as my projects grow.
Tools and technologies I am currently building with.
